Dr Kirsty Hughes

Dr Kirsty Hughes has had a notable career in international public policy. She has worked in academia, think tanks (in Berlin, Brussels, Edinburgh and London), civil society organisations and at senior level in the European Commission. Her influential research, policy analysis and wide-ranging media and communications work has focused especially on the politics, economics and policy of the European Union. Dr Hughes has published widely including on the challenges of EU enlargement, deepening European democracy abd EU integration, and the politics of the euro crisis. Her recent research has focused on Brexit, the future EU-UK relationship and Scotland’s European prospects.
