Catalysing collective action on climate change – from policy to community

Walk a mile in a climate policy-maker’s shoes for a day

Are you passionate about climate change? Are you interested in policymaking? Climate change is one of the biggest challenges we are facing at a global level and addressing the climate emergency requires broad based social change. Both individual and collective action is needed to generate substantive changes. Join us on Thursday 2 February, for a hands-on workshop to learn more about climate change policy. Guided by experienced facilitators, you will learn how to analyse evidence and how to examine and understand climate policy. Together with other participants, you will make use of policy approaches to co-produce solutions which aim to change the climate change pathway.

The workshop will be facilitated by Peter McColl. Peter is The Consultation Institute’s Senior Associate in Scotland. He has a range of interests including public participation in policy, climate change, consultation and digital. Previously he was Head of Policy and Futures for the Snook design agency, Head of Policy for Nesta in Scotland and Rector of the University of Edinburgh from 2012-15. He was a member of the RSE Young Academy of Scotland 2016-22.
