Five of the country’s leading scientists presented the RSE’s Winter Lecture at Wallace High School in Stirling on Tuesday.
Chaired by Professor Lesley Yellowlees FRSE, RSE Fellows Professor Ineke DeMoortel from the University of St. Andrews, Professor Ruth King of the University of Edinburgh, Dr Deborah O’Neil of the biotech company NovaBiotics and Dr Senga Robertson-Albertyn from the University of Dundee addressed an audience of S3 pupils on their work and what motivated them to become scientists.
At the event, Dr Robertson-Albertyn was also presented with the prestigious RSE Innovators Prize for Public Engagement in recognition of her contribution to communicating science in a fun and interactive way.
