ReSourcE Spring/Summer 2025
The Spring/Summer 2025 edition of ReSourcE explores what the future holds for Scotland’s rural environments.
Building on last year’s Islands – Past, Present and Future events, this edition focuses on the RSE’s recent Contested Rural Environments series, and expands this conversation into some new areas. Heritage, energy, healthcare, ecology, the role of media in a rural context are all explored, as well as a pause to acknowledge the UHI’s Centre for Mountain Studies which celebrates its 25th year this year. Contributions from the RSE Fellowship, Young Academy of Scotland and a range of other experts all give insight into the various challenges and opportunities that rural Scotland has.
Also in this edition is the discovery and extraction of Scotland’s first dinosaur on Skye as described in Earth and Environmental Science: Transactions of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, news of a research funding partnership between the RSE and Lower Saxony, new RSE Fellows and a case study on how an RSE Personal Research Fellow investigated early-years gender stereotypes in engineering disciplines.
