ReSourcE Autumn/Winter 2025

In uncertain times, this edition of Autumn/Winter 2025 edition of ReSourcE focuses on the range of ways that humans choose to communicate with each other.

It features a variety of expert voices from the RSE’s Fellowship, writing about everything from the importance of dance in health outcomes, Jimi Hendrix’s interpretation of Bob Dylan’s All Along The Watchtower, the importance of the Edinburgh Conversations during the Cold War, quantum communication, the future of encryption, and a raft of other topics.

Also in this edition is a major RSE conference examining the future funding of Scotland’s tertiary education sector, highlights from this year’s Curious festival showcasing research and public engagement across disciplines, the launch of a nationwide election programme sparking debate ahead of the 2026 Scottish Parliamentary elections, and recognition of outstanding academic achievement through the awarding of the 2025 RSE Medals.
