Putting the climate emergency at the centre of our partnership response, we highlight the role that Horizon Europe can play in supporting research and innovation that enable society to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change. This includes a focus on: investment in new renewable energy technologies; sustainable production systems for food, energy and water; ensuring that the social sciences and humanities are embedded in research programmes; and placing natural capital and the circular economy at the heart of economic prosperity.
The response also highlights the importance of using research and innovation to support people to adopt healthier lifestyles through revolutionised health care underpinned by much more effective use of data and digital developments.
