We are delighted to accept applications for the 2022/2023 round of the RSE Fulbright Scholar Award, in partnership with the US-UK Fulbright Commission. This annual award will offer an academic, from anywhere in the UK, the opportunity to go to a top university in the US for a maximum of three months to carry out lecturing and/or research in any of the following areas: science & technology, arts, humanities, social science, business and public service.

The first recipient to hold the new RSE Fulbright Scholar Award went out to the US in the academic year 2017/18.

Applicant eligibility

In order to apply for this award, you must be able to demonstrate that:

  • You are a resident in the UK and have a clear and continuing connection with Scotland and that you hold a PhD (or equivalent professional training or experience) in a relevant area before departure to the US.
