Sir Michael Boyd
Sir Michael Boyd is one of the UK’s most distinguished theatre directors. After training at Malaya Bronnaya Theatre, Moscow and Belgrade Theatre, Coventry, he became Founding Director of the Tron Theatre, Glasgow in 1985. In 1996, Michael joined the Royal Shakespeare Company as Associate Director before taking over as Artistic Director in 2003. During his time as Director he commissioned and developed ‘Matilda the Musical’, produced ‘The Complete Works’ and ‘World Shakespeare Festivals’ and led the Royal Shakespeare Theatre through a long-awaited renovation. In 2012, Michael was knighted for services to drama.
