Professor Sally Louise Mapstone FRSE

Principal and Vice-Chancellor, University of St Andrews.

Professor Sally Mapstone has held the position of Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of St Andrews since 2016. She remains active in research in Older Scots literature, principally literature in Scots and in Latin before 1707, political literature and book history. She is Honorary President of the Scottish Text Society, an Honorary Fellow of the Association for Scottish Literary Studies, and a Fellow of the English Association. Sally maintains a strong interest in equality issues and leads on admissions for Universities Scotland. She also has a long-standing engagement in international issues and chairs the international advisory board for the University of Helsinki.
