Ronald Bowie is focused on helping organisations maximise their people’s potential. He led Hymans Robertson from a small specialist actuarial firm into an innovative retirement savings consultancy. In 2010 he merged the Institute of Actuaries with the Faculty of Actuaries, becoming the new body’s first President. Subsequently, the Institute and Faculty (actuaries are not renowned for imagination in choosing names!) has become a fast-growing global actuarial organisation. Ronald now holds a few chairmanships, including the Royal Bank of Scotland Pension Fund, but his greatest professional enthusiasm is for helping the University of Dundee succeed on the world stage and thereby allowing more people to benefit from its outstanding teaching, research and student experience. He is married, with four grown-up daughters.
