Professor Veronica van Heyningen
Honorary Professor and Visiting Scientist MRC Human Genetics Unit, University of Edinburgh

In “retirement”, she is an Honorary Professor at the Institute of Ophthalmology, UCL, still hunting for genes and mechanisms. She mentors early career scientists. She also engages strongly with Equity, Diversity and Inclusion issues through the Royal Society. Her affiliations and honours include FMedSci, FRS, and EMBO membership. Also CBE.
