Professor Thomas Greggs

Tom Greggs is Professor of Historical and Doctrinal Theology at the University of Aberdeen, having previously been Chair of Systematic Theology at Chester University. A native of Liverpool, he was educated at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. He is the author of Barth, Origen, and Universal Salvation (OUP) and Theology against Religion (Continuum). Tom is also the editor of New Perspectives for Evangelical Theology (Routledge) and co-editor of The Vocation of Theology Today (Cascade). He has served as secretary of the Society for the Study of Theology and as co-chair for Scriptural Reasoning at the American Academy of Religion. His essays have appeared in leading international journals and collections, and he has been guest editor of a number of journal issues. Tom was Arts and Sciences International Visiting Scholar and Visiting Professor in Religion at the University of Virginia in 2010. He is actively engaged in inter-faith work, and is a member of a consultation that meets in Jerusalem.
