Professor Steve Liddle
Professor of Inorganic Chemistry, University of Manchester
Professor Steve Liddle is Head of Inorganic Chemistry and Co-Director of the Centre for Radiochemistry Research at the University of Manchester. He is a physical-inorganic chemist, and an expert in the chemistry of the f-elements, that is the lanthanides and actinides. His research involves exploratory synthetic chemistry coupled to detailed electronic structure and reactivity studies to elucidate structure-bonding-property relationships. His work has been recognised with various awards, including the Tilden Prize from the Royal Society of Chemistry in 2020. He is Vice-President to the European Rare Earth and Actinide Society and he has engaged extensively in online public engagement activities.
