Professor Sir Gerry McCormac
Principal and Vice-Chancellor, University of Stirling
Professor Gerry McCormac is a physicist with research interests in space physics and carbon dating. His early career was spent at the University of Michigan where he worked on the NASA Dynamics Explorer satellite program and subsequently headed up the high-precision carbon dating facility at Queen’s University Belfast. In 2001, Gerry became Pro-Vice Chancellor at Queen’s, a position he held until 2010 before moving to his current role at the University of Stirling. He is currently Vice-Convenor of Universities Scotland.
