Professor Sir Aziz Sheikh

Professor Aziz Sheikh is a primary care-based epidemiologist with specialist research interests in the clinical management of allergic disorders and in exploiting health information technology (IT) to enhance the quality, safety and efficiency of healthcare delivery. Aziz is Co-Director of The University of Edinburgh’s Centre of Medical Informatics and inaugural Director of the 13-university Asthma UK Centre for Applied Research. He is Visiting Professor of Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School and an adviser to the World Health Organization on IT and patient safety. Aziz was awarded an OBE for services to medicine and health care in 2014.
