Professor Sharon Cowan
Professor of Feminist and Queer Legal Studies, University of Edinburgh
Professor Sharon Cowan completed an LLB (Hons) from Strathclyde University, and an MPhil in Criminology from the University of Cambridge. She was a researcher at the London School of Economics before going on to complete a PhD at Brunel University, London. After three years as a lecturer at the University of Warwick Sharon joined the University of Edinburgh in 2004. She is a co-convenor of the Scottish Feminist Judgments Project: https://www.sfjp.law.ed.ac.uk/. Her work has made a long-standing contribution to research and teaching on sex, gender and sexuality in the fields of criminal law, asylum law and equality law.
