Professor Rory Duncan
Professor, Heriot-Watt University
In his role at UKRI, Professor Rory Duncan works across the research system and government with responsibility for strategy, policy, actions and funding delivery. He is co-Director of the Edinburgh super-resolution imaging consortium, a shared endeavour between Heriot-Watt and Edinburgh Universities providing training and technology for researchers using advanced microscopy. He was founding head of a multi-disciplinary research institute at Heriot-Watt and holds a Royal Society of Edinburgh Senior Medal for public engagement. His research interests are in the molecular mechanisms of secretion. From April 2022, he will be Pro Vice-Chancellor at Sheffield Hallam University.
