Professor Frost is interested in the history of Poland–Lithuania from the 15th to the 19th Century; the history of Scandinavia, in particular Sweden, in the early modern period; the history of political unions; and the history of early modern warfare. His current project is a history of the Polish–Lithuanian Union from 1385 to 1815 for Oxford University Press. Volume 1: The Making of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, 1385- 1569 was published in 2015. It was awarded the Pro Historia Polonorum Prize for the best book on Polish history by a foreign author published between 2012 and 2017.
