Professor Philip White
Professor Philip White works at The James Hutton Institute on the mineral nutrition of crops. His research has three broad aims: (1) to optimise the use of mineral fertilisers in crop production and, thereby, reduce fertiliser inputs and pollution, (2) to improve the nutritional quality of edible crops through their biofortification with essential nutrients such as calcium, magnesium, selenium and zinc, and (3) to reduce the entry of toxic elements into the food chain. He is currently a Full Professor (Chair) at Huazhong Agriculture University (Wuhan, China) and an Honorary Professor at the University of Nottingham.
