Professor Peter Tasker

Professor Peter Tasker is a chemist who became Emeritus Professor of Chemistry in 2009 after spending almost 20 years as Chair of Industrial Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh. Peter gained his PhD from the University of York in 1968 and went on to be employed by the Universities of Chicago, California, Warwick and Imperial Chemical Industries before moving to the University of Edinburgh. His expertise lies in coordination chemistry and focuses on the design and application of molecules which bind strongly and selectively to metal ions or to metal surfaces.
