Professor Peter Duff
Professor Peter Duff has spent the majority of his career at the University of Aberdeen, specialising in criminal justice, evidence and procedure. He has conducted several empirical research projects commissioned by the Scottish Government and was on the Scottish Criminal Cases Review Commission for almost 10 years, participating in many important cases, including the referral of the ‘Lockerbie bomber’ back to the High Court for a fresh appeal. Peter was also a member of the McInnes Committee on Summary Criminal Procedure from 2002 – 2003 and part of the Carloway Review team. He has lectured extensively in China and Thailand and is currently assisting with the training and professional development of judges and prosecutors in Thailand, where he has also been involved in the reform of Thai criminal procedure.
