Professor Peter Cameron
Professor of Mathematics, University of St Andrews
Born and educated in Australia, Professor Peter Cameron came to the UK 50 years ago and has made his career here since, teaching at Oxford and at Queen Mary University of London before his present appointment. He has written a dozen books and over 300 mathematical papers with 200 collaborators, and has been honoured by the London Mathematical Society with the Junior and Senior Whitehead Prizes and by the Institute of Combinatorics and its Applications with the Euler Medal. Peter was seen on the BBC Horizon Programme ‘To Infinity and Beyond’, which was watched by 1.5 million people, and his lecture ‘Mathematics: the Next Generation’ has been viewed 800,000 times on YouTube.
