Professor Paul Glendinning
Professor of Applied Mathematics, University of Manchester
Paul Glendinning is an applied mathematician at the University of Manchester working on dynamical systems, differential equations, bifurcation theory and their applications. He was the founding Head of the School of Mathematics in Manchester following the merger of Manchester and UMIST and he is currently Scientific Director of the International Centre for Mathematical Sciences (ICMS) in Edinburgh. He has served on many funding panels, and written numerous popular mathematics articles and some books. He has supported equality, diversity and inclusion issues throughout his career and is now interested in the sustainability of academic activity.
