Professor Nigel Brown

Nigel Brown trained in biochemistry at the University Leeds and was a postdoc in the Sanger Laboratory working on the first DNA genome sequence. Subsequently he was Lecturer and Royal Society Senior Research Fellow at the University of Bristol, Visiting Fellow at Melbourne University and Professor of Microbiology at the University of Birmingham. His work was largely on bactierla metal resistance. He then became Director of Science and Technology at BBSRC before moving to the University of Edinburgh as Vice-Principal. He retired in 2012
