Professor Neil Price
Distinguished Professor of Archaeology, Uppsala University
Professor Neil Price is Distinguished Professor of Archaeology at Uppsala University, Sweden, and formerly held the Sixth Century Chair of Archaeology at the University of Aberdeen. A leading specialist in the Viking Age, with additional interests in the historical archaeology of the Indo-Pacific region, his research has taken him to more than 40 countries. Neil is a frequent contributor to archaeological television and radio and provides historical consultancy for films and drama series. For the next ten years Neil is directing Sweden’s largest archaeological research project, The Viking Phenomenon, leading an international team to explore the origins of this critical period in world history.
