Professor Luke Bisby
Professor of Fire and Structures, University of Edinburgh
Professor Luke Bisby is the Arup Chair of Fire and Structures, working within the BRE Centre for Fire Safety Engineering at the University of Edinburgh. He is also Deputy Head of the Research Institute for Infrastructure and Environment at Edinburgh. A Structural Engineer by education, he now works primarily with consultants, architects, fire scientists, regulators, sociologists, and government to address issues relevant to fire safety in the built environment. In addition to his primary research focus, he is interested in quantification of sustainability metrics to inform policy decisions, in science and engineering education, and in public engagement with science and engineering.
