Professor Lorne Crerar
Chairman, Harper MacLeod LLP
Lorne is the founding Partner and Executive Chairman of leading commercial law firm Harper Macleod LLP. He is Emeritus Professor of Banking Law and author of several legal textbooks. He is a Trustee of the Robertson Trust. He has held several public sector posts including Convener of the Standards Commission, Chair of Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Co-Chair of the National Council of Rural Advisors. He is the author of “The Crerar Review“ which reformed scrutiny of Public Services and the creator of the reform proposals for residential property transactions resulting in current Home Report system. He was Chairman of Discipline for Scottish Rugby Union, Six Nations and European Rugby Cup and officiated at four Rugby World Cups. His other interests are the West Highlands of Scotland and its history, sailing, hillwalking and travel.
