Professor Lorna Marson
Professor of Transplantation Surgery, University of Edinburgh
Lorna is an academic transplant surgeon, with a focus on kidney transplantation, and carries out research that is relevant to transplant patients. She was the first woman to be elected President of the British Transplantation Society. She works to ensure there is equity of opportunity to surgical careers irrespective of gender, and has developed mentoring programmes for surgical trainees. She has experience in leadership in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and has recently been appointed as Dean of Clinical Medicine, University of Edinburgh. Outside work, her interests lie with her family, running and cycling.
