Professor Kirstie Blair

Professor Kirstie Blair is a Chair in English at Strathclyde, and has previously worked at the universities of Stirling and Glasgow. She specializes in the long nineteenth-century, and especially in working-class writing, poetry, and literature and religion. Her latest book, Working Verse in Victorian Scotland: Poetry, Press, Community won the Saltire Society Book of the Year and Research Book of the Year awards in 2019. Her current research projects involve working with museums and creative professionals on various engagement projects, and on ways to incorporate working-class literature into industrial heritage.
