Professor Keith Matthews
Professor of Parasite Biology and Dean of Bioscience Partnerships, University of Edinburgh
Professor Keith Matthews is Professor of Parasite Biology and Director of the Centre for Immunity, Infection and Evolution at the University of Edinburgh. His research interests focus on the developmental biology of trypanosomes, parasites that cause African sleeping sickness, including investigating their molecular mechanisms of life-cycle control, their gene expression regulation and their mechanisms of environmental perception. These studies are integrated into the broad framework of understanding trypanosome biology in the parasite’s human host and tsetse fly vector.
