Professor Juergen Kurths
Full Professor in Nonlinear Dynamics, Humboldt University of Berlin
Jürgen Kurths studied mathematics. He has been Professor of Nonlinear Dynamics at the Humboldt University and chair of the research domain Complexity Science, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. His main research interests are synchronization, complex networks, time series analysis and their applications in climatology, physiology, and engineering, especially inferring networks from data, develop approaches to forecast extreme events and general stability concepts. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society, member of the Academia Europaea, received an Alexander von Humboldt research award, the Richardson Medal and 8 Honory Doctorates. He has a productive collaboration with the University of Aberdeen.
