Professor Joseph Ndung’u
Head of Human African Trypanosomiasis and Other Neglected Diseases Programme, Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics
Professor Joseph Ndung’u has a degree in veterinary medicine and surgery from the University of Nairobi and a PhD from the University of Glasgow Veterinary School on the immunopathology of human African trypanosomiasis (Sleeping Sickness). Joseph has published widely on human and animal health in local and international journals, and has contributed several book chapters in his field. He has been a visiting professor at the University of Wisconsin in Madison (USA) and the University of Glasgow (UK), and is a member of a number of international consortia and committees. His current focus is on diagnostics for sleeping sickness and other neglected diseases, including Leishmaniasis and Chagas disease.
