Professor Jean Tirole

Professor Jean Tirole is a French economist who won the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2014 for his analysis of market power and regulation of firms. He received his PhD in Economics in 1981 from MIT and returned in 1984 as Professor of Economics. From 1994 – 1996 Jean was a Professor of Economics at École Polytechnique. Alongside his role at Institut d’Economie Industrielle, he is currently Chairman of the board at the Toulouse School of Economics. Jean has published almost 200 articles in economics and finance and is the author of 10 books.
