Professor James Roy Robertson
Professor of Addiction Medicine, University of Edinburgh
Professor Roy Robertson has spent over three decades working as a medical practitioner in Edinburgh with expertise in illegal drug use and associated harms including HIV/AIDS, hepatitis and drug-related deaths. He is a member of several UK, European and WHO advisory committees including Chair of the Home Office Shipman committee, the Scottish National Forum on Drug Related Deaths and is currently Chair of the Scottish Government’s advisory group on Drug Related Harm. Roy is currently Professor of Addiction Medicine at the University of Edinburgh and Apothecary to the Queen at the Place of Holyrood House.
