Professor James Naismith
Professor of Structural Biology and Director of the Rosalind Franklin Institute, University of Oxford
I grew up in Hamilton and studied Chemistry at Edinburgh 85 -89, then for my PhD I studied structural biochemistry at Manchester, graduating in 1992. After two years in Dallas Texas, I started a lectureship at St Andrews, January 1995. I stayed at St Andrews until 2017, when I moved to Oxford to head up first the Research Complex at Harwell and subsequently the Rosalind Franklin Institute.
