Professor Jacques Vanneste is an applied mathematician whose research activities centre on fluid dynamics, in particular geophysical fluid dynamics. After gaining his PhD in Physics at Pierre and Marie Curie University he joined the University of Toronto in 1995 as a Postdoctoral Fellow before moving to the University of Cambridge two years later. In 1999, Jacques took up post as a Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh, becoming a Professor in 2008.
