Professor Helen Hastie
Professor of Computer Science, Heriot-Watt University
Helen Hastie is an Associate Professor in the Computer Science department and a member of the Interaction Lab in the School of Mathematical and Computer Sciences at Heriot Watt University Edinburgh Centre of Robotics. Previously, she was at the University of Edinburgh and before that she was at Lockheed Martin Research Labs, NJ, USA. Her research interests include spoken dialogue and multimodal systems, Natural Language Generation including data2text for a number of domains including education, defense and Health Informatics. She is involved in a number of knowledge transfer activities and is the industry liaison for Computer Science at Heriot-Watt and organise the annual Industry Steering Board.
