Professor Heather Ferguson
Professor of Medical Entomology and Disease Ecology, University of Glasgow
Heather Ferguson is a Professor of Medical Entomology and Disease Ecology at the University of Glasgow.  Her research focuses on the ecology, surveillance and control of the mosquito vectors that spread malaria and arboviruses; with emphasis on capacity strengthening in disease endemic countries. Her work is centred around research and training partnerships with leading Research Institutes in Africa, Asia and South America, including a long-term partnership with the Ifakara Health Institute in Tanzania where she holds an appointment as a Visiting Scientist. She has contributed to international policy through membership and co-Chairing of the World Health Organization’s Vector Control Advisory Group.
