Professor Geoffrey Parker is a historian with expertise in European history, Military History and Global Environmental History. Before moving to Ohio State in 1997, Geoffrey taught at the Universities of Cambridge and St. Andrews, UK; University of British Columbia, Canada; and Universities of Illinois and Yale, United States. He has written or co-written 39 books including ‘Military Revolution: Military Innovation and the Rise of the West, 1500-1800, 1988 and ‘Imprudent King. A new biography of Philip II’, 2014. In 1984 he was elected a Fellow of the British Academy.
