Professor Emma Hart
Professor of Computational Intelligence, Edinburgh Napier University
Emma Hart is a Professor in Artificial Intelligence in the School of Computing at Edinburgh Napier University. Her interests lie in developing automated systems inspired by processes observed in nature, to endow machines with the capability not only to autonomously solve problems but to also improve their problem-solving capabilities over time. Her work has found a broad range of application in academia and industry, ranging from optimising the layout of infrastructure (e.g. in water networks) to designing and controlling robots. She has a keen interest in public engagement, regularly contributing articles to the popular press and participating in events.
