The RSE Fellowship comprises around 1,800 leading experts in the sciences, arts, business, professions and the third and public sectors, with links to Scotland. This range of expertise within the Fellowship places us in a unique position to provide an informed, interdisciplinary response to issues facing Scotland and internationally.

Professor Don Sannella
Professor of Computer Science, University Of Edinburgh
Professor Don Sannella first joined the University of Edinburgh in 1981 as a Research Fellow and has been Professor of Computer Science since 1998. He is co-founder and CEO of Contemplate Ltd, a technology company established to help primarily financial companies automatically identify defects in Java code bases. Don is the founder of ETAPS, Europe’s most prominent academic conference in software science, and is Editor-in-Chief of the journal Theoretical Computer Science.
