Professor Dilip Nathwani
Dilip is a global leader for advocating the pivotal role of the healthcare professionals, their prescribing behaviour and education in the human response to the global pandemic of antimicrobial resistance [AMR]. This has been exacerbated by the current COVID-19 crisis. Building innovative high quality open access digital or e-learning knowledge exchange platforms that build capacity & support the knowledge and skills needs of the global workforce, particularly in LMIC’s, is the premise of his current work. Creating sustainable broad collaborative networks with a range of stakeholders, funded by public- private partnerships & philanthropy and engaging civic society are core to this work. Dilip encourages those interested to join him in this urgent mission. Whilst vaccines have and will transform the prevention of infections their treatment is compromised by the escalating pandemic of AMR.
