Fellowship

Professor Derryck Reid is an optical physicist whose research interests are in developing lasers that produce light pulses lasting only for a few thousandths of a trillionth of one second and applying them in astronomy, spectroscopy, metrology and microscopy. This research is motivated by its potential for real-world exploitation, and a substantial fraction is carried out in collaboration with industry in the UK and abroad.
