Professor Cong-Qiang Liu

Professor Cong-Qiang Liu received his BSc degree from Nanjing University of China in 1982 and his PhD from Tokyo University of Japan in 1991. After roles at Japan Science and Technology Agency and University of Electro-Communications he joined the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 1996. Between 1997 and 2009, Cong-Qiang was Director of the Institute of Geochemistry and President of the Chinese Society for Mineralogy, Petrology and Geochemistry from 2004 to 2013. He became a member of CAS from 2011 and a Geochemistry Fellow of the Geochemical Society and the European Association of Geochemistry in 2016 and is now Vice-President of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Cong-Qiang’s research focuses on the bio-geochemical process of the earth’s surface, and trace element and isotope geochemistry.
