Professor Chunli Bai

Professor Chunli Bai, one of China’s nanoscience and technology pioneers, is President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professor of Chemistry at the CAS Institute of Chemistry. He is also the current President of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and committed to advancing science in developing countries. Chunli’s research is in the field of scanning tunnelling microscopy and molecular nanotechnology and his team built the first Atomic Force Microscope. He has received numerous awards and recognition for his scientific contributions and is recognized by the membership of many major national science academies.
