Professor Christopher Quine
Chief Scientist, Forest Research
Chris is Chief Scientist at Forest Research and a member of their executive team. He has conducted applied research in temperate/boreal forest systems in support of policy and practice across topics of sustainable forest management, silviculture, storm damage, risk and resilience, biodiversity and ecosystem services, biosecurity and tree health, and decision support systems. Originally trained as a geographer, he is particularly committed to interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral research and knowledge exchange, including through participation in Scotland’s Plant Health Centre. Chris was awarded an honorary professorship by Stirling University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Foresters.
