Professor Christopher Breward
Visiting Professor, University of Edinburgh
Christopher Breward is Director of Collection and Research at the National Galleries of Scotland and a Visiting Professor at the University of Edinburgh. Prior to this, he was Principal of Edinburgh College of Art and has worked at the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Royal College of Art and the University of the Arts London. Educated at the Courtauld Institute and the Royal College of Art, Christopher has published and curated widely on the histories of art, fashion and urban cultures. He has served on the Boards of the National Museums Scotland and the Fruitmarket Gallery, Edinburgh and is currently a Trustee of Hospitalfield Arts, Arbroath, the Pasold Foundation and the Edinburgh Art Festival; he also sits on the Advisory Committee of the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art.
