I am working on male reproductive health. This involves examining factors which contribute to infertility (inability to have children) and specifically finding out how sperm cells are produced, how they work and what makes them go wrong. Men produce up to 1000 sperm in a heartbeat so it is a complicated process to study! In addition to examining infertility we are also looking at the other side of the coin – how we can use our knowledge to develop new contraceptives for men.
