Professor Cathie Sudlow
Professor of Neurology and Clinical Epidemiology, University of Edinburgh
Professor Cathie Sudlow is Chair of Neurology and Clinical Epidemiology, University of Edinburgh. Her research interests include population-based prospective studies, health informatics, genetics and the cause and prevention of strokes and neurodegenerative diseases. She joined the University in 2000 as a Wellcome Trust Clinician Scientist and is now Director of the Centre for Medical Informatics, Usher Institute of Population Health Sciences and Informatics. She also directs the Scottish substantive site of Health Data Research UK. Since 2011, Cathie has been Chief Scientist of UK Biobank, establishing innovative methods to follow the health of 500,000 research participants through linkage to complex linked healthcare data from multiple providers across the UK.
