The RSE Fellowship comprises around 1,800 leading experts in the sciences, arts, business, professions and the third and public sectors, with links to Scotland. This range of expertise within the Fellowship places us in a unique position to provide an informed, interdisciplinary response to issues facing Scotland and internationally.

Our Fellows from academia, business and public service are among the most distinguished in their fields. We engage and connect nationally and internationally to share knowledge and tackle the most pressing challenges of the modern world.

Professor Bill Sloan
Professor of Environmental Engineering, University of Glasgow
Professor Bill Sloan is an environmental engineer working at the edge between biology and water technologies. After pursing his undergraduate degree in Mathematics at Heriot Watt University, Bill gained experience working at The City University, University of Newcastle Upon Tyne before taking up his first academic post at the University of Glasgow in 1999 where he has been an enthusiastic teacher and researcher since.
